Job Description

As a Social Worker within our Domestic Abuse Service, you will play a crucial role in the assessment and support of men who have perpetrated domestic abuse. Your primary responsibility will be to undertake comprehensive Caledonian Assessments, a specialized risk and needs assessment for men referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct in-depth Caledonian Assessments with men convicted of domestic abuse offenses, adhering to the core principles and standards of the Caledonian System
  • Analyze complex information to identify risk, need, and protective factors related to the perpetration of domestic abuse
  • Formulate clear and concise assessment reports, providing recommendations for intervention and risk management
  • Liaise and collaborate with a wide range of professionals, including probation officers, police, and other agencies
  • Participate in multi-agency risk assessment conferences (MARACs) and other forums to ensure a coordinated response to domestic abuse
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records in accordance with service policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our domestic abuse services

Requirements

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW)
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
