Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Social Worker to join a dynamic team working within a Prison. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals within the prison system, supporting their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into the community.

Job Responsibility

  • Undertaking comprehensive social work assessments and interventions with a diverse caseload of offenders
  • Developing and implementing effective risk management plans, focusing on reducing reoffending and promoting public safety
  • Working collaboratively with a range of multi-disciplinary teams, including prison staff, probation officers, psychologists, and healthcare professionals
  • Providing support and advocacy for offenders, addressing complex needs such as substance misuse, mental health issues, and family breakdown
  • Contributing to parole board reports and other statutory processes

Requirements

  • LS/CMI (Levels of Service/Case Management Inventory) trained
  • Experience in either RoSH (Risk of Serious Harm) training or SA07 & RM2000 (Structured Assessment of Risk and Need/Risk Matrix 2000)
  • Experience in preparing TARL (Throughcare, Aftercare, Resettlement, and Licensing) reports
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW)
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a Social Worker
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle
