Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Publications Writer to develop, revise, and maintain user documentation for enterprise-level software solutions. The individual will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, analysts, and subject matter experts, to create accurate, accessible, and role-specific content across multiple formats such as online help, PDF guides, and quick reference materials. This role requires strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to work within structured templates and documentation systems.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop clear, concise, and comprehensive user documentation for a range of software applications
  • Gather information from business requirements, design documents, product demos, and interviews with subject matter experts
  • Create audience-appropriate, role-based documentation
  • Develop content using standard authoring tools, templates, and single-sourcing methodologies
  • Edit UI text, including prompts, labels, and error messages, ensuring consistency and clarity
  • Manage content review cycles and collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine documentation
  • Deliver high-quality documentation within agreed timelines
  • Analyse existing and new content for opportunities to streamline, reuse, or optimise through single-sourcing

Requirements

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems and tools efficiently
  • Adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic about continuous learning
  • Experience working with localisation best practices
  • Hands-on experience with MadCap Flare
  • Familiarity with Camtasia, Contentful, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or GIT is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 4+ years’ experience creating enterprise software documentation
