Job Description

Our client, a small CPA firm in Norwalk, is seeking a Temp-to-Hire Junior Tax Preparer / Junior Accountant to join their team onsite five days a week. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level accounting professional who is eager to learn, grow within public accounting, and gain hands-on exposure to tax preparation in a collaborative small-firm environment. The Junior Tax Preparer / Junior Accountant will primarily support the preparation of individual tax returns, with some exposure to corporate tax work, while also assisting partners with a variety of accounting and tax-related duties during busy periods and throughout the year.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare and assist with individual income tax returns
  • Support preparation of corporate and business tax returns
  • Organize and review client tax documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Enter financial and tax data into tax preparation software
  • Assist partners and senior staff with tax engagements and client deliverables
  • Perform general accounting and administrative support for the firm as needed
  • Help track deadlines, filings, and required documentation
  • Communicate with internal team members regarding return status and missing information
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and client information

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Internship, prior tax preparation experience, or public accounting exposure is a plus
  • Familiarity with individual tax returns required

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Eagerness to learn and take direction in a small firm environment
  • Ability to work onsite in Norwalk five days per week
