Job Responsibility:
Supervises day-to-day kitchen operations and staff and all food preparation areas including Banquets, Room Service, Restaurants, Bar/Lounges and associate dining room to ensure a consistent, high quality food product
Works with the sous chefs, executive chef and food and beverage team to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget
Uses leadership skills to manage other associates
Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served
Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared
Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items
Prepare special meals or substitute items
Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks
Monitor stock of kitchen supplies and food
Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program and food products
Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications
Requirements:
Diploma or degree from accredited university in culinary arts or NVQ or related major
Minimum 3 years’ experience
Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
Innovative and creative in food production
Pro-active and reliable
Positive attitude
Good preparation and co-ordination skills
Able to work alone and within a team
Basic computer skills
Able to run the pass
Sharing knowledge and ideas in menu development
Good level of English essential in reading and writing
