Job Responsibility

  • Supervises day-to-day kitchen operations and staff and all food preparation areas including Banquets, Room Service, Restaurants, Bar/Lounges and associate dining room to ensure a consistent, high quality food product
  • Works with the sous chefs, executive chef and food and beverage team to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget
  • Uses leadership skills to manage other associates
  • Determine how food should be presented and create decorative food displays
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served
  • Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared
  • Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks
  • Monitor stock of kitchen supplies and food
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program and food products
  • Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree from accredited university in culinary arts or NVQ or related major
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience
  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)
  • Innovative and creative in food production
  • Pro-active and reliable
  • Positive attitude
  • Good preparation and co-ordination skills
  • Able to work alone and within a team
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to run the pass
  • Sharing knowledge and ideas in menu development
  • Good level of English essential in reading and writing
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
