Job Description:

Join the team at Harrisons, Port Douglas's hatted, award-winning fine dining restaurant led by chef Spencer Patrick. Located at the iconic Sheraton Grand Mirage, this is your chance to work in a stunning tropical setting between the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest. For 17 years, Harrisons has been setting the benchmark for fine dining in Port Douglas, showcasing the best seasonal Australian produce, crafted daily into elegant menus and paired with an extensive wine and beverage list.

Job Responsibility:

Support the daily operations of the kitchen and be a key part of a passionate and collaborative culinary team
Work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure high-quality food preparation and service
Assist in managing kitchen sections and lead the team in your area during service periods
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and presentation at all times
Contribute to the smooth running of daily kitchen operations including prep, service, and event execution
Bring creativity and passion to your role while helping to implement new menu ideas and culinary concepts
Deliver memorable guest experiences by understanding and exceeding customer expectations
Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety, Hygiene, and HACCP standards

Requirements:

Trade Industry Qualification or Commercial Cookery Certification
Previous experience in a busy commercial kitchen, ideally at a Chef de Partie or similar level
Passionate about food, teamwork, and hospitality
Strong communication and organisational skills
Eager to learn, grow and take the next step in your culinary career
A proactive and positive attitude with a hands-on approach
