Job Description

Junior Sous Chef - Cake Artist is a management role within the Pastry Department and reports directly to the Executive Pastry Chef. This position supports the oversight of the pastry team and assumes supervisory responsibility in the absence of the Senior Leader in Pastry. This is a highly specialized role that requires exceptional Cake Artist expertise, strong leadership abilities, and meticulous attention to detail. This position collaborates closely with the Pastry Team and is involved in both production and service operations and responsible for producing pastry items for various resort outlets and ensuring the consistent quality and standards of all products prepared within the Pastry Department.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and decorate cakes based on customer requests and company standards
  • Create innovative and artistic cake concepts for special events and daily display
  • Master various cake decoration techniques such as fondant, buttercream, piping, sculpting, and hand-painting
  • Ensure the quality, taste, and visual presentation of all cakes meet brand expectations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation in accordance with hygiene and safety standards
  • Collaborate with the pastry and kitchen team for production planning and new product development
  • Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and order schedules
  • Execution of banquet events, ensuring quality and presentation as set forth by the Executive Pastry Chef
  • Ordering to ensure proper stock levels of ingredients needed to operate the daily production and banquet demand

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Proven experience as a Cake Artist, Pastry Chef, or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of cake decorating tools and techniques
  • Creative mindset with a good eye for color, detail, and aesthetics
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple order
  • Management experience is required
  • culinary qualifications are essential
  • Positive personality and good interpersonal skills for interfacing with members, guests, and staff
