Job Description:

The Securities Trading team is a dynamic team of Software Engineers and Business Analysts spread across several development centers. We follow an Agile process, working closely with the Product Owner and related teams to develop product features and provide support to our extensive global customer base. We work with customers and partners to develop and deliver innovative solutions to meet market demands. The team is part of many exciting and challenging projects relating to cutting-edge Swiss, European and Asian banking initiatives. We are the experts in Avaloq for the Securities Trading and Transaction Reporting business. You will have the opportunity to develop software in SQL, Java for our containerized adapters plus our own proprietary Avaloq Script language for the Securities Trading and Transaction Reporting components.

Job Responsibility:

Work closely and collaborate with the Team Lead, Product Owner, Business Analysts and other Software Engineers
Write solution designs for new developments and have them reviewed with our technical leads and architects
Design, develop and maintain thought-out solutions within the team’s responsibility
Participate in client workshops and support our business analysts in requirements analysis
Improve and optimize existing functionalities
Develop and maintain automated tests for quality assurance
Grow and learn to take ownership and responsibility for your area of expertise
To work with an Agile mindset within the existing process and ticketing platforms (Jira)

Requirements:

University degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Candidate must have strong abilities to comprehend and understand complex topics
Ideally a few years of continuous relevant software development experience, although a strong graduate would be considered
Knowledge of software engineering
At least 1 year of experience working with database technologies (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL)
Ideally 1 year of experience with Java (or similar) programming languages
Eager to learn and understand the business and its needs, aiming to provide clear designs and high-quality code
Strong conceptual and analytical mind with a structured and autonomous approach to work on complex technical and business problems
Fluent written and spoken English - a must as English is the official common language across the company

Nice to have:

Experience in the financial industry, ideally working with Securities
Any experience with Avaloq or other Wealth Management IT applications
Knowledge of banking domain messaging standards like FIX, SWIFT MT or MX (ISO20022)
German or French language skills
