As a Junior Scrum Master, you will support one or more product teams by ensuring they follow Scrum principles and Agile best practices. Your primary responsibility will be facilitating Agile rituals, maintaining team focus on sprint goals, and helping teams utilize Agile tools effectively. This role emphasizes foundational Scrum Master responsibilities, focused on guiding teams through Agile practices, ensuring process adherence, and fostering continuous improvement. Unlike senior levels, the Scrum Master role does not include people management duties or coaching across teams but instead focuses on the operational aspects of Scrum.
Job Responsibility:
Assist product teams in conducting key Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, sprint reviews, demos, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
Ensure the proper use of Agile tools like Jira and ClickUp for backlog management, progress tracking, and sprint planning
Help teams define clear and achievable sprint goals aligned with product roadmaps
Guide the team in breaking down stories into manageable tasks that are well-defined and understood
Act as a facilitator for Agile practices, ensuring the team stays focused on its ceremonies and sprint goals
Support the team's use of Agile tools to manage workflows, track progress, and deliver value efficiently
Encourage self-organization within the team, helping members take responsibility for their tasks and outcomes
Foster a collaborative, transparent, and accountable environment within the team
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by helping the team identify areas for enhancement during retrospectives
Track basic Agile metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity) and assist the team in using this data to improve performance
Provide basic guidance and coaching to new teams or individuals, ensuring they understand and apply core Scrum principles
Act as a point of communication between the product team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on sprint goals and deliverables
Maintain transparent communication with the product leadership on team progress, risks, and potential blockers
Foster collaboration within the product team and between adjacent functions to ensure feedback is integrated into the product backlog
