Amentum is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior RF Engineering Technician to join our team in Dahlgren, VA, supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Electromagnetic Effects Division. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) testing and certification of both DoD and non-DoD developmental and operational weapon and electronic systems. Your work will play a vital role in ensuring that these systems meet E3 design specifications and function effectively and safely in their intended electromagnetic environments. This position offers opportunities for hands-on technical work, collaborative team efforts, and direct customer engagement. Travel is required up to 10% of the time, and on-the-job mentoring will be provided to support your professional growth and development.
Job Responsibility
Operate and maintain specialized equipment to perform E3 testing and certification on complex weapon and electronic systems
Assess system compliance with E3 design specifications to ensure safety, reliability, and performance in operational electromagnetic environments
Support a wide variety of test events, both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with direct communication and coordination with customers
Travel to various locations (up to 10% of the time) to support off-site E3 testing as needed
Requirements
One (1) year of general experience in electronics, physics, or testing RF systems
Knowledge of using one or more of the following: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Secret Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
