Job Description

We’re looking for a Junior Regional Operations Manager to ensure operational standards are consistent across the north region. Using your commercial awareness and focus, you will be leading and directing the Depot Operations Teams to ensure strategy implementation.

Job Responsibility

  • Continually assess each branch's performance with regard to standards of presentation, customer service, customer trading, housekeeping and administration
  • Use benchmarking techniques and best practice across the Region to continually improve the quality of branch operations
  • Ensure that branches implement pricing and promotions effectively
  • Ensure that branch management has a coherent business-building commercial plan and that is regularly reviewed in light of local market conditions
  • Management of Depot P&Ls, monitoring performance against agreed KPIs
  • Define weekly, monthly and quarterly ways of working that drives financial performance
  • Be a positive role model of our culture and ways of working
  • Listen to and be the champion of the Depots
  • Ensure appropriate policies, processes and effective administration is in place to keep the business legally compliant and reduce any risk
  • Develop Operational KPIs and MI reporting that will drive improvements, behaviours and accountabilities across the business
  • Support the Regional Operations Manager

Requirements

  • Significant experience of leading teams in operational roles
  • Experience of both Retail and Wholesale markets with evidence of delivering results in both
  • Experience of successfully leading Change Programmes
  • Proven track record in building high performing teams
  • Constantly demonstrates clarity of thought and an ability to act on it
  • Capable of making tough decisions and implementing them
  • Commercially focused and committed to achieving targets
  • Focused and driven on the achievement of all financial targets
  • Has the ability to give clear direction and delegates appropriately to empower and develop others
  • Highly experienced people management skills
  • High capacity to drive improvements through a team to get them to deliver willingly and well
  • An ability to think outside the box whilst remaining practical
