Job Description

Service Stream is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join our Telecommunications Fixed Network team based in Brisbane. This role supports the delivery of NBN and fixed line fibre projects, contributing to the planning, coordination and execution of fibre network construction and upgrade works across Queensland.

Job Responsibility

  • Preparing and maintaining project documentation, reporting, dashboards and trackers
  • Supporting the delivery of fibre and fixed‑line works to meet programme, cost, quality and safety targets
  • Assisting with the coordination of designers, field crews and subcontractors
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders, third parties and clients to support timely delivery
  • Supporting quality assurance and quality control across fibre build and remediation works
  • Assisting with RFIs, variations, as‑built documentation and project close‑out activities

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree (or higher) in Engineering (Telecommunications, Civil, Electrical or similar)
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and reporting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A proactive mindset, with the willingness to learn within a delivery-focused environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software Suite
  • An interest in data analysis, problem-solving and innovation

Nice to have

  • Exposure to or understanding of telecommunications, NBN or fixed-line network delivery
  • Familiarity with fibre construction activities such as trenching, pit and pipe, hauling, splicing or remediation
  • Experience or familiarity with asset management, GIS, CAD or network mapping systems
