We’re on the lookout for a Junior Planner to join our Planning team - a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Allocator or Assistant Planner who’s ready to take the next step in their career and grow in a supportive, fast-moving retail environment. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Buyer and wider business to help drive the success of your department through smart analysis, commercial thinking, and strong in-season trading. You’ll play a key part in building and managing financial plans, supporting range strategies, controlling OTB, monitoring stock flow, and making data-led decisions that deliver results. You’ll be supported by a Senior Planner, making this an amazing development role for someone ready to stretch into broader planning responsibilities while building confidence, capability and impact.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the development and management of the merchandise financial plan to achieve sales, profit, stock turn and ROI targets
Reviewing sales, stock and trading performance to identify opportunities and risks
Assisting in building department range plans using assortment planning principles
Managing in-season trade, stock flow and OTB in line with budget, forecast and company strategy
Preparing forecasts, re-plans and monthly SWOTs to support commercial decision making
Monitoring product performance, size performance and stock levels to help maximise sell through
Managing aged stock and clearance activity in line with company guidelines
Partnering with Allocators, Buyers, Production and key stakeholders to ensure stock is in the right place at the right time
Visiting stores and staying close to customer, competitor and market activity
Using data and insight to help shape decisions and deliver strong commercial outcomes
Requirements:
2-3 years of experience in an allocation, planning or forecasting role within retail
Strong financial and numerical capability
A solid understanding of stock management, forecasting and trading in season
The ability to interpret data and act on best sellers, slow sellers and emerging trends
Strong communication skills and confidence working across teams
A proactive mindset with great attention to detail
Strong Excel skills, along with proficiency in Word and Outlook
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Commerce or a Retail-related field
Nice to have:
Exposure to WSSI or other planning tools is advantageous, but not essential
