Our ideal Junior Pastry Sous Chef will be responsible to Plan, organize, control and direct the work of employees responsible for preparation of sweet items while ensuring superior quality and consistency.
Job Responsibility:
Support the daily operations of the Pastry Kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation across all pastry preparations
Assist in supervising the pastry team, coordinating mise en place, and contributing to the production of desserts, baked goods, and pastry items for restaurants, banquets, in-room dining, and special events
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards, control food costs, and support menu development through creativity and innovation, while upholding Four Seasons culinary excellence
Play an active role in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment, and ensuring smooth communication between the pastry kitchen and other departments
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in a pastry kitchen within a luxury hotel, fine dining restaurant, or high-end hospitality environment is considered an asset
Solid technical pastry skills and knowledge of modern and classic pastry techniques
Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
Team-oriented mindset with a passion for training and development
Attention to detail, creativity, and commitment to culinary excellence
