Job Description

We are looking for an junior Paralegal to join our team on a contract basis to support an upcoming patent trial in Wilmington, Delaware. This role is ideal for someone with basic paralegal experience who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. You will play a key role in assisting with trial preparation and administrative tasks, ensuring the trial runs smoothly. This is a short term project need with the dates expected to be 5/6-5/22. There is a strong possibility of OT during this 3 week trial and the need to candidates who can work overnight shifts.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with trial preparation tasks, including organizing binders, folders, and materials for daily use
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control checks on printed documents and trial exhibits
  • Proofread legal documents and exhibits for accuracy and consistency
  • Label and organize exhibits for presentation in court
  • Coordinate with attorneys to ensure end-of-day deliverables are completed efficiently
  • Support administrative tasks in the trial room, such as printing, sorting, and preparing materials
  • Serve as a runner for routine trial tasks, ensuring seamless operations during proceedings
  • Manage transportation and food arrangements for the trial team
  • Collaborate with team members to address last-minute needs and challenges effectively
  • Adapt quickly to dynamic trial requirements and maintain a proactive approach

Requirements

  • Basic experience in paralegal or administrative roles, preferably in a legal setting
  • Strong proofreading and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in trial materials
  • Ability to work overnight shifts during trial periods
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to support attorneys and trial staff
  • Proficiency in handling printed materials, including offset printing and bindery projects
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Quick learner who can adapt to new processes and responsibilities with ease

Nice to have

Familiarity with intellectual property and civil litigation processes is a plus
