Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Network Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their networking career to gain hands-on experience in an enterprise, security-focused environment while being supported by experienced engineers. The role focuses on day-to-day network operations, monitoring, and support, with structured training and progression into more advanced networking and security responsibilities over time.

Job Responsibility

  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of the corporate network across on premise and cloud environments
  • Monitor network connectivity, performance, and availability
  • Perform first-line investigation of network and connectivity issues and escalate appropriately
  • Support office networking services, including LAN, Wi Fi, and WAN connectivity
  • Support secure remote access services, including SSL VPN and site-to-site connectivity
  • Assist users with VPN connectivity issues and basic diagnosis
  • Verify access, connectivity, and logging for remote connections
  • Support hybrid networking between on premise infrastructure and Microsoft Azure
  • Assist with basic Azure networking components such as Virtual Networks and Network Security Groups
  • Help troubleshoot connectivity between cloud-hosted services and internal systems
  • Monitor network and security logs as part of daily operational checks
  • Follow documented runbooks for common incidents and events
  • Escalate potential security or availability issues promptly
  • Assist in maintaining accurate network documentation
  • Work within a regulated financial services environment
  • Follow change management, access control, and least privilege principles
  • Support audits and reviews by providing logs, evidence, and documentation when required

Requirements

  • A solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, routing and subnetting
  • Basic knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLANs, and Wi Fi concepts
  • Familiarity with firewalls and network security principles
  • A foundational understanding of VPN technologies
  • Awareness of cloud networking concepts (particularly Microsoft Azure)
  • Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • An IT qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands on experience
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a service desk, infrastructure, or junior network role

Nice to have

  • Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar enterprise networking platforms
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure networking
  • Familiarity with endpoint or identity platforms (Intune, Azure AD / Entra ID)
  • Interest in network security or cloud engineering as a career path
