Job Description:

Walter P Moore has an immediate opening for a Junior Modeler to join our dynamic team. A Junior Modeler has the responsibility for applying intensive and diversified knowledge of detailing principles and practices in broad areas. A Junior Modeler bears primary responsibility for properly executing the accuracy and constructability of the project model(s). They will assist to set direction, outline goals, and execute the project plan. The Junior Modeler’s roles include complex modeling, planning, organization direction and quality control of projects, being a team leader through technical supervision and staff development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build concept models and connections to ensure alignment with the design team
  • Collaborates with architects, contractors, and other engineering consultants to develop engineering solutions
  • Oversees designs, reviews project specifications, and interprets applicable codes and industry standards
  • Guides/assists other modelers regarding issues such as codes, design criteria, and software
  • Provides guidance to team members regarding Walter P Moore assessment techniques, modeling standards, processes, and quality
  • Promotes, exhibits, and communicates our Extraordinary Client Experience (ECX), Extraordinary Employee Experience (EEX), 5 Coordinates, vision, mission, and purpose

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of prior experience
  • 2+ years of prior experience in Tekla steel detailing on complex projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage individuals and teams to complete tasks or projects
  • Ability to build partnerships, and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
  • Demonstrated career growth that includes experience working on design teams for a variety of building or project types
  • Strong client-service attitude with the ability to multitask and accomplish multiple priorities
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
