Junior Mechanical Design Engineer Job at BES Group (Cowes)

Job Responsibility

Develop mechanical design concepts, models, and detailed drawings to meet application and customer requirements
Ensure mechanical suitability of equipment for intended applications and operating environments
Prepare manufacturing instructions for mechanical aspects of customer and internal projects
Support quotation activities by providing mechanical input, including quality assurance considerations
Investigate mechanical design issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Adapt or design bespoke equipment where standard solutions are unavailable or unsuitable
Support production teams with solutions for manufacturing, testing, and calibration requirements
Visit customer sites when high technical input is required, both within the UK and internationally

A qualification in Mechanical, Design, CAD or related subject
Experience with CAD, ideally Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor
Demonstrated interest in mechanical design, including relevant extracurricular or practical experience
Experience managing CAD data using systems such as Autodesk Vault
Competent in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), supported by validated hand calculations
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including stress/strain and material selection
Ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
