Job Description

The role of a Junior Maintenance Surveyor is to ensure that all properties that are owned or managed by Certitude are maintained to such a standard that they are fit for purpose, safe and compliant with relevant legislation.

Job Responsibility

  • To conduct pre- and post-inspection surveys on properties to identify repair needs, damp/mould issues, or structural damage
  • To manage "voids" (empty properties), ensuring they are repaired and prepared for new occupants within strict timelines
  • Oversee the performance of contractors and the approved contractors list to ensure contractors carry out repairs and maintenance to a high quality and within budget
  • Liaise with residents (people we support), colleagues, managers, external contractors and suppliers to ensure the delivery of escalated repairs is effectively managed
  • Issuing repair orders to contractors and tracking progress

Requirements

  • HNC/HND or BSc in Building Studies, Building Surveying, or a related construction field
  • Experience in building maintenance, repair, diagnosis, or construction
  • Understanding of building pathology, building fabrics, and repair methods
  • Strong diagnostic skills and client management
  • Excellent intermediate IT skills and able to use programmes such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • An understanding of the construction industry, including trades, materials, processes and safety
