The role of a Junior Maintenance Surveyor is to ensure that all properties that are owned or managed by Certitude are maintained to such a standard that they are fit for purpose, safe and compliant with relevant legislation.
Job Responsibility:
To conduct pre- and post-inspection surveys on properties to identify repair needs, damp/mould issues, or structural damage
To manage "voids" (empty properties), ensuring they are repaired and prepared for new occupants within strict timelines
Oversee the performance of contractors and the approved contractors list to ensure contractors carry out repairs and maintenance to a high quality and within budget
Liaise with residents (people we support), colleagues, managers, external contractors and suppliers to ensure the delivery of escalated repairs is effectively managed
Issuing repair orders to contractors and tracking progress
Requirements:
HNC/HND or BSc in Building Studies, Building Surveying, or a related construction field
Experience in building maintenance, repair, diagnosis, or construction
Understanding of building pathology, building fabrics, and repair methods
Strong diagnostic skills and client management
Excellent intermediate IT skills and able to use programmes such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
An understanding of the construction industry, including trades, materials, processes and safety
