We are seeking a motivated Junior Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Surveyor to join our Asset Management team in Leeds. This opportunity is ideal for individuals currently working in a mechanical or electrical engineering role and studying towards a BTEC, HNC, or HND in building services or an engineering-related discipline. Working alongside experienced surveyors, you will support the delivery of mechanical and electrical asset surveys, plant condition assessments, and asset verification across a diverse portfolio of buildings. Full training, mentoring, and long‑term development opportunities are provided. In addition, we offer opportunities for the right candidate to progress through formal apprenticeship pathways in building services, surveying, or related technical disciplines.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting senior surveyors with mechanical and electrical asset surveys
Logging, tagging, and reporting on building services equipment
Supporting plantroom inspections and condition assessments
Recording and verifying data relating to heating, ventilation, HVAC, and electrical systems
Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary surveying team
Producing clear, accurate survey notes and digital records using asset management software
Requirements:
A foundation in mechanical or electrical engineering, or currently studying towards a BTEC, HNC, or HND in building services or an engineering-related discipline
Basic understanding of plantrooms, heating systems, HVAC equipment, and electrical installations
Strong IT skills, including confidence with digital survey tools, spreadsheets, and mobile data‑capture apps
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
A genuine interest in developing a career in M&E surveying and the built environment
Willingness to learn, take instructions, and develop technical competence
A full UK driving licence (essential), as site travel is required
