This is a 12-month, full-time secondment based in London within an established in-house legal team. You will work closely with the Legal Operations lead, supporting the smooth running of the team’s day-to-day activities while contributing to broader operational initiatives. The role is particularly well suited to candidates who are interested in how legal teams function from a process, systems, and operational perspective, rather than purely fee-earning work. The successful candidate is expected to start in June 2026.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting the coordination of new joiners and leavers, ensuring systems and internal processes are kept up to date and knowledge is appropriately handed over
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of reports relating to legal spend, budgets, and key risk metrics, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
Maintaining and improving the quality of data within matter management and internal tracking systems
Assisting with the administration of invoicing processes and purchase orders, helping to resolve queries and ensure timely processing in line with internal guidelines
Drafting internal updates and communications relating to process changes, policies, and key developments
Contributing to the review and refinement of existing workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency
Supporting the rollout and ongoing use of legal tools and systems, including providing guidance where required
Coordinating meetings, updates, and knowledge-sharing sessions within the team
Assisting with a range of legal operations projects and initiatives, depending on team priorities
Requirements:
Previous experience within a legal or in-house environment, for example as a paralegal, legal coordinator, or similar
Exposure to working with legal processes, systems, or operational workflows
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities
Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with data and documentation
Clear and professional communication skills
A proactive mindset and the ability to identify and resolve issues independently
Good technical skills, including Microsoft Office, and an interest in legal technology
Nice to have:
Any experience working with legal systems, reporting tools, or process improvement initiatives would be beneficial
