Job Description

We are seeking a sharp, commercially minded Junior Legal Counsel (0–2 years PQE) to join FrankieOne’s legal team and help us move fast while staying well protected. Reporting to the Head of Legal & Privacy, this is a hands-on role embedded in the business, working closely with Sales, Partnerships, Product and Operations. This is not a traditional, purely advisory legal role. You will be in the deal flow — helping structure, negotiate and close contracts, solving problems in real time, and ensuring legal doesn’t become a bottleneck to growth. You’ll get exposure to a wide range of commercial and regulatory work across a global SaaS business, and quickly build capability across enterprise contracting, data protection and emerging areas like AI regulation. You’ll be trusted to take ownership early, with support, and grow into managing contracting workflows end-to-end. FrankieOne is a highly tech-enabled organisation that values speed, pragmatism and continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who is proactive, curious, and comfortable operating with ambiguity while keeping a strong grip on detail.

Job Responsibility

  • Get into the deal flow — draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including SaaS subscription agreements, reseller and partner agreements, SLAs, SOWs, consultant agreements and NDAs
  • Support and progressively take ownership of the contract lifecycle, from first draft through negotiation to signature
  • Work directly with Sales and Partnerships teams to unblock deals, provide practical guidance and keep momentum in commercial negotiations
  • Maintain and iterate on contract templates to reflect evolving legal, regulatory and commercial needs
  • Run contracts through electronic signature platforms and ensure clean execution and record keeping
  • Build a strong understanding of FrankieOne’s product and use it to inform contracting positions with customers, partners and vendors
  • Develop working knowledge of key regulatory frameworks (AML/CTF, CPS 230, GDPR, Privacy Act, DORA, EU AI Act) and apply them pragmatically in negotiations
  • Help balance legal risk with commercial outcomes — knowing when to push, when to concede, and when to escalate
  • Identify friction in legal processes and help improve how we operate — faster turnaround times, better templates, smarter workflows
  • Provide day-to-day support to the Head of Legal & Privacy across a mix of legal and operational matters

Requirements

  • 0–2 years PQE, ideally with exposure to commercial, technology or corporate law (law firm or in-house)
  • Strong fundamentals in contract law
  • Commercial mindset
  • Bias for action
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with non-legal stakeholders
  • Interest in SaaS, fintech, data, privacy or emerging technology (AI, regtech, etc.)
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and take ownership, even outside a strict legal remit
