The successful candidate will provide legal support to the Global Legal Director – Commercial in delivering the global commercial legal strategy as well as attend to daily reactive matter including drafting, negotiating and reviewing a large numbers of complex agreements.
Job Responsibility:
Provide legal support to the Global Legal Director – Commercial in delivering the global commercial legal strategy
Attend to daily reactive matter including drafting, negotiating and reviewing a large numbers of complex agreements
Cooperate and work closely with senior colleagues within the Global Commercial Legal team providing legal advice, guidance and set best practice within the company on all matters related to commercial contracts including applicable laws, conventions and regulations
Draft, review & manage a wide variety of agreements on a global scale such as NDA’s, amendments, local contracts, master agreements, terms and conditions, tender documents, termination notices, letter of awards and any other ad-hoc request relating to commercial contracts ensuring at all times compliance with Aramex standard position as amended from time to time in relation to each such agreement/s
Serve as primary contact and lead contract negotiations to achieve the best possible outcome from a legal perspective for all Global Commercial Customer contracts and any related downstream contract
Manage and maintain all record-keeping for Global commercial customer contracts and documentation
Work closely with global and regional internal stakeholders such as finance, regional legal, Commercial, operations, insurance, compliance, Tax and any other departments necessary to successfully execute a contract
Coordinate and advise senior stakeholders on business risks based on commercial decisions and propose acceptable commercial solutions
Able to review standard terms and conditions and highlight key areas of concern for the business
Communicate, update and present information to stakeholders concerning current and new process relating to contract management
Attend to Aramex business stakeholders concerns to the extent that it has a legal compliance or commercial contract impact
Draft all supporting legal processes and documentation related to the Global Commercial customer contracts including termination and dispute notices
Form part of the task team tasked with drafting, maintaining and updating global Aramex templates for localization and use by Regional legal teams
Where new Aramex services are developed by business stakeholders ensure that said services fall within the trade license of the applicable business unit and we comply with local law. New services not complying to be escalated to Global Director Commercial Legal
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in law
Certificate of admission as attorney
A minimum of 4 years’ experience either in a commercial contract position, in-house paralegal or a legal procurement department
Experience in contract negotiation and drafting
Creative and strategic, exercising strong judgment, and being proactive and innovative in solving problems that affect business stakeholders
Be flexible and comfortable with change, and have great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, strong organizational skills, and the ability to easily switch gears
Proven negotiation skills, and are comfortable dealing with all levels of our organization
Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills
Proactive approach to recognizing needs, anticipating issues, and solving problems
Ability to handle large volumes of contracts and resolve promptly
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and LexisNexis
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication and analytical skills
Strong customer focus and to act as a team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Approachable and can actively listen to the full facts and instructions

Nice to have:
Previous experience in the Logistics and Transportation industry is preferred but not essential
