Job Description

We are looking for an Attorney to join a detail-oriented services firm in Phoenix, Arizona, with a focus on insurance defense and litigation matters. This opportunity is well suited for a recently admitted or early-career attorney who is eager to build courtroom and case management experience in a supportive environment. Job Responsibility

  • Represent clients in insurance defense matters and manage litigation files from initial review through resolution
  • Prepare persuasive legal motions, briefs, and other court filings with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines
  • Handle discovery activities, including drafting requests and responses, reviewing documents, and supporting fact development
  • Analyze case details, legal issues, and exposure to help shape defense strategies and recommend next steps
  • Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings as experience and case needs require
  • Collaborate with colleagues and firm leadership during the onboarding period through in-office training and ongoing case guidance
  • Maintain organized documentation, track procedural requirements, and ensure matters progress efficiently through each stage of litigation

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in good standing
  • At least 1 year of experience in litigation or a strong interest in developing within insurance defense
  • newly admitted attorneys will be considered
  • Working knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court filing practices
  • Ability to draft motions, legal briefs, and related written advocacy materials effectively
  • Experience with or understanding of discovery processes, including written discovery and document review
  • Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively

  • Independently establishes and maintains strong professional relationships with key associates within Office of the Chief Legal Officer and claims partners at the senior director level and below, as well as with colleagues within the legal and insurance industries within those jurisdictions and communities in which he/she practices
  • Utilizes relationships to build and improve NTD’s reputation and expand case referral opportunities within the enterprise
