Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive individual looking to develop a career in estimating and sales support while gaining technical and commercial expertise within a growing engineering business. Working within the Sales Team maintaining strong client relationships, preparing accurate quotations and tenders, and identifying new business opportunities. This role ensures smooth sales operations, effective communication, and accurate record-keeping, while developing both technical and commercial knowledge of the business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Identify and act on opportunities to be nominated for new projects
  • Support Account Sales Managers in achieving sales targets
  • Prepare accurate, competitive, and technically sound quotations based on client specifications and market conditions
  • Ensure tenders are submitted on time to meet customer deadlines
  • Follow up on quotations to maximise win rates
  • Proactively reach out to existing clients to generate new opportunities (including occasional site or client visits)
  • Identify discrepancies in projects and advise clients early in the process
  • Collaborate with Sales Managers and the Sales Director on new leads and key decision-maker introductions
  • Understand client needs and align proposals with their buying motivations
  • Stay familiar with company pricing structures to ensure profitability while remaining competitive
  • Support the handover of projects to the Contracts Support Department
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales files, and documentation
  • Manage workload effectively to maximise productivity
  • Follow internal processes and approval structures to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

  • Strong educational background
  • degree level or equivalent
  • Technical curiosity with a willingness to learn and grow in the role
  • Ability to understand basic technical documentation (training provided)
