We are looking for a Junior Environmental consultant to join our team in Perth. BMT's Environment Consultants act as Project Managers and technical experts, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality environmental projects. While the role is primarily office-based, there may be some opportunity for field work depending on project needs and individual interest.
Job Responsibility:
Support and deliver high quality marine impact assessments, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations
Support in project management activities across multidisciplinary environmental projects
be involved in conducting research and analysis on marine ecosystems, habitats, and species to inform conservation strategies
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement marine management plans
Engage with stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, to promote sustainable practices
Requirements:
A degree in Marine Science or a related field (post‑grad qualifications welcomed and ADAS qualifications)
Around 1-3 years of experience in marine ecology, fieldwork, data analysis and technical report writing
Experience with environmental issues related to coastal or marine infrastructure development
Working knowledge of Australian approvals processes, including the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA) and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cwlth)
Strong communication skills and the ability to translate science for diverse audiences
A proactive, collaborative spirit and genuine passion for marine conservation
