Job Description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and technically skilled individual to provide 1st Line technical services for live IT systems used by Vodafone operators (OpCos and JVs). This role involves supporting software and hardware development, implementation, testing, modifications, and troubleshooting across telecom applications and network systems. You will contribute to maintaining network stability across multiple technologies, escalating complex issues to higher technical levels when required.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide 1st Line technical support for live IT systems across Vodafone OpCos and joint ventures
  • Support the development, implementation, modification, and testing of software and hardware solutions for telecom IT systems and applications
  • Identify, develop, and implement solutions to resolve software and hardware issues raised by Vodafone OpCos
  • Apply changes to existing software systems or develop new software components to maintain system functionality and performance
  • Escalate highly complex software or hardware faults to senior engineers or 2nd Line teams when issue severity or timelines require it
  • Perform analytical and technical activities to support the development, testing, and modification of IT systems used in mobile and fixed telecommunications
  • Contribute to: Custom software development and adaptation
  • Software and hardware fault remediation
  • Software and hardware performance evaluation
  • Adapt software packages using machine‑level programming languages to help stabilise telecom networks
  • Detect, analyse, and troubleshoot defects in GSM, UMTS, LTE, and 5G networks by modifying or adapting software packages based on technical specifications and design guidelines
  • Escalate cases that exceed complexity or time thresholds to higher technical support level

Requirements

  • Proficient in written and spoken English
  • Understanding of operating systems, databases, and IT applications used in mobile and fixed telecommunications
  • Basic technical knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/5G and networking
  • Experience collaborating with diverse technical teams and delivering strong stakeholder communication
  • University degree, preferably in a technical field (e.g., Electronics and Telecommunications, Automation and Computers, Computer Science, or related areas)

Nice to have

Knowledge of an additional widely spoken European language is an advantage
