Job Description:

We are looking for a Junior Electronics Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary technology development team in Oulu. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn broadly, combining electronics with materials, illumination, mechanics, and physics, while gaining hands-on experience in developing new IMSE solutions. We are not looking for a specialist for a narrow field like PCB layout engineering. Instead, you will support solution development, contribute to knowledge creation, and help produce high-quality content for TactoTek Online, our customer-facing knowledge transfer platform.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support the development of new IMSE solutions together with senior engineers
  • Participate in IMSE research, prototyping, and method verification from a hardware perspective
  • Collaborate with experts in mechanics, illumination, software, and materials to build robust multidisciplinary solutions
  • Assist in creating and maintaining content for TactoTek Online (design guidelines, methods, examples)
  • Support senior colleagues in customer trainings and technical explanations
  • Prepare and update technical documentation, design notes, and basic specifications
  • Support lab work, prototype builds, and measurement activities
  • Learn how to ensure that electronics-related IMSE concepts meet manufacturing feasibility and quality requirements
  • Contribute to improving internal design practices and tools

Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electronics design and strong enthusiasm to grow into a multidisciplinary role
  • Curiosity about materials, illumination, and software topics
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to work in lab and prototype environments
  • Familiarity with electronics design tools (Altium, Mentor, Eagle, or similar) is an advantage
  • Good communication and technical writing skills in English
  • Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn

Nice to have:

  • Interest or experience in material technologies
  • Basic software or scripting skills
  • Knowledge of EMC fundamentals
  • Exposure to printed electronics
  • Understanding of basic physics principles relevant to electronics
  • Any teaching or training experience (e.g., labs, tutoring)
What we offer:
  • Competitive compensation package
  • Flexible work environment
  • Remote-friendly culture
  • Opportunity to collaborate with world-leading IMSE experts and globally recognized brands
  • Employees are empowered to take responsibility for their work
  • Opportunity to actively shape the evolution of their role
