Job Responsibility

  • Working within a multi-disciplined onshore Engineering Team, prepare engineering drawings and documents related to design of electrical and instrumentation scopes for offshore oil platforms under the guidance and direction of senior team members
  • Liaising with the instrumentation team and other disciplines through work development
  • investigating, advising, and resolving design and field engineering problems
  • Assist senior and intermediate designers and engineers with design documentation packages and construction drawing sets
  • Calculate and prepare bills of materials in accordance with established codes, standards, drawings, and other specifications
  • Developing data sheets, cause and effect diagrams, block diagrams, loop drawings and other typical instrument and controls deliverables
  • Developing heat trace isometrics, panel board schedules, lighting layouts, single lines and other typical electrical deliverables
  • Participate in the development of solutions to technical issues and in the verification of implementation of these solutions
  • Provide technical assistance to the engineering team as required

Requirements

  • Technical college diploma or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • A minimum of 1-5 years of engineering design experience, ideally within a brownfield industrial environment
  • Experience in conceptual studies, detailed design, and engineering support projects utilizing 2D and 3D design programs
  • Familiar with applicable regulatory codes and design specifications
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation design codes and standards
