Job Description

At the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center (CAC), we support customers across the globe. But behind the scenes, we are transforming into a data-first organization. We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist who doesn't just "do data," but builds intelligent systems. In this role, you won't just be analyzing the past; you will be building the future of customer interaction using LLMs, RAG architectures, and scalable data pipelines within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and build LLM-based solutions for information extraction, summarization, and conversational AI
  • Develop scalable data pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark and Spark SQL
  • Write clean, modular Python code and build shared libraries and reusable components
  • Use Copilot and other AI assistants to accelerate workflow while maintaining high standards for validation (Pydantic) and version control (Git/GitHub)
  • Act as a consultant to the business, explaining complex AI concepts to stakeholders and challenging requirements to ensure we solve the right problems

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of embeddings, vector search, topic modeling, and RAG architectures
  • Experience with prompt engineering and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain or LlamaIndex)
  • Proficiency in Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Spark SQL
  • Know how to ingest data from APIs, streams, and files into well-modeled data layers
  • Strong Python skills with an emphasis on modularity, Pydantic for data validation, and professional Git workflows
  • Comfortable working in an Agile or SAFe environment
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Proactive self-starter
  • Transparent, proactive communication
  • Critical thinking
  • HBO qualification
  • At least 1 year of experience

What we offer

  • Long term commitment
  • Personal development
  • International and dynamic environment
