Mowi's Global R&D and Technical Department is seeking a motivated Junior Data Analyst to support our business with proactive data insights and cutting-edge analytics solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of biology, technology, and data science, helping to drive innovation in sustainable salmon farming.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analyze data from farming operations, R&D projects, and technical systems to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support the development of proactive data insights that help stakeholders make informed decisions
  • Build and prototype innovative data interfaces, including AI agents and automated analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D, farming operations, and technology to understand data needs and deliver relevant insights
  • Stay current with developments in AI, machine learning, and data analytics, and explore how these can be applied to aquaculture challenges

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate or final-year student with a degree in data science/AI, biology, mathematics, aquaculture, or a related field
  • Programming experience in Python or SQL (or strong willingness to learn quickly)
  • Experience with AI tools or frameworks (e.g., LLMs, machine learning libraries, prompt engineering) through coursework, projects, or personal exploration
  • Analytical mindset with strong communication skills – able to translate complex data into clear insights for diverse audiences
  • Curious, self-motivated, and eager to explore new technologies and methodologies
