Job Description

The Junior Commissioning Engineer is part of the team for the LNG Bunkering Project, a key initiative within OQEP and company transition strategy. In this critical role, they will be responsible for ensuring the Completeness of commissioning activities performed by CONTRACTOR to ensure these Systems are fully operational for plant Start-up. They will report directly to the Commissioning & Start-up Site Lead. The Junior Commissioning Engineer shall ensure that the preparation and execution of Operational Test are in accordance with Procedure and specification. They shall also ensure a smooth handover to the Operation Team according to the priorities defined. LNG relies on a LEAN organization with multi-competencies personnel. This service description is not exhaustive and only highlights the key activities, responsibilities and accountabilities

Job Responsibility

Requirements

  • Master degree in Chemical or petroleum engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English (required)
  • +10 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas industry with proven experience with large onshore plants and LNG plants
  • Several years of proven experience in Commissioning and operation stage of LNG projects
  • +5 years’ experience in similar position
  • This position is open to local hire only (expat in Oman)

  • Support the Commissioning and Start-up leaders in the review of the Operational Test Procedures
  • Support the Digital Implementation Coordinator in the control of the Easyplant database with the disciplines leaders
  • Coordinate with the HSE department that all safety aspects are covered for the execution of the Commissioning
  • Ensure and review that the JRA for the commissioning activities are prepared and are in-line with the PROJECT-LNG and local requirements
  • Participate in the preparation of GAS-IN
  • Assist the CSL in identifying and addressing all internal/external interface issues with respect to Commissioning and Start-up
  • Promote HSE behaviour within the commissioning activities and verify that HSE procedures are implemented by the Contractor and Sub-contractors
  • Attends and conducts regular meetings with Contractor’s representatives to discuss and agree safety standards, concerns and potential hazards
  • Ensure that risk assessment is performed before each potentially dangerous activity (GAS-IN)
  • Participate to the Permit To Work meetings and assist Start-up PTW coordinator and HSE authority
