Job Description:

At Lawes Group, we are currently working with an established insurance business who are seeking a Junior Claims Handler to join their Claims team in their Norwich office. This role is ideal for someone at an early stage of their career who is looking to build a long-term career in insurance. Full training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be supported in developing the skills required to handle insurance claims effectively and professionally.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with the handling of Personal Lines claims from first notification through to settlement
  • Communicate with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, and third-party suppliers
  • Gather and accurately input claims information and documentation
  • Provide regular updates to customers and manage expectations throughout the claims process
  • Escalate complex queries to senior team members where appropriate
  • Ensure all claims are handled in line with company procedures and FCA requirements
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls and emails from customers
  • Updating claims systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Managing Motor, Household, and Travel claims
  • Requesting information and documents from customers and third parties
  • Supporting senior claims handlers with administrative tasks
  • Learning claims processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Working to agreed service standards and timescales

Requirements:

  • No prior claims experience required
  • Experience in customer service, admin, or office-based roles would be advantageous
  • School/college leavers and graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
  • Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
