At Lawes Group, we are currently working with an established insurance business who are seeking a Junior Claims Handler to join their Claims team in their Norwich office. This role is ideal for someone at an early stage of their career who is looking to build a long-term career in insurance. Full training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be supported in developing the skills required to handle insurance claims effectively and professionally.
Job Responsibility:
Assist with the handling of Personal Lines claims from first notification through to settlement
Communicate with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, and third-party suppliers
Gather and accurately input claims information and documentation
Provide regular updates to customers and manage expectations throughout the claims process
Escalate complex queries to senior team members where appropriate
Ensure all claims are handled in line with company procedures and FCA requirements
Handling inbound and outbound calls and emails from customers
Updating claims systems and maintaining accurate records
Managing Motor, Household, and Travel claims
Requesting information and documents from customers and third parties
Supporting senior claims handlers with administrative tasks
Learning claims processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Working to agreed service standards and timescales
Requirements:
No prior claims experience required
Experience in customer service, admin, or office-based roles would be advantageous
School/college leavers and graduates are encouraged to apply
Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
Good attention to detail and willingness to learn
Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks
