Job Description

The Junior Category Manager will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations related to vendor management, product logistics, planning, and promotional activities. The role requires data analysis, presentation skills, collaboration with diverse teams, and occasional travel. It involves working in a dynamic environment with a focus on meeting financial targets and operational excellence.

Job Responsibility

  • Generate, analyze, and draw conclusions on data for effective category management
  • assist Category and Merchandise Managers in vendor contact, item setup, pricing, costs, and logistics
  • planning, tracking, and execution of sales incentives or contests
  • provide support and recommendations for local planogram assortment and planning
  • collaborate and execute promotional and pricing activities
  • occasional in-store merchandising
  • achieve financial targets as determined by Company Plan guidelines
  • maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to generate, analyze, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
  • assist Category and Merchandise Managers in vendor contact, item setup, pricing, costs, product logistics, and in-stocks
  • planning, tracking, and execution of vendor/operations sales incentives or contests
  • understand, analyze, and provide support for local planogram assortment and planning
  • collaborate on promotional and pricing management
  • in-store merchandising opportunities requiring occasional overnight travel
  • up to 60% travel
  • valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, management, business economics or a related field preferred
  • one to three years of work experience preferred
  • retail experience preferred
  • detail-oriented with ability to juggle multiple projects
  • strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
