Job Description:

The Junior Category Manager role involves generating and analyzing large datasets to support category management, providing operational and vendor-related support for merchandise, collaborating on promotional activities, and maintaining technical knowledge.

Job Responsibility:

Generate, analyze, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
Assist Category and Merchandise Managers in vendor contact for issues related to item setup, pricing, costs, product logistics, in-stocks, etc.
Plan, track, and execute vendor/operations sales incentives and/or contests
Provide support and recommendations for local planogram assortment, planning, and process
Collaborate on promotional and pricing management and execute associated activities
Support operational team with in-store merchandising opportunities
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops and participating in societies
Contribute to team effort to achieve business targets.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, management, business economics, or related field preferred
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted
One to Three years of work experience preferred
Retail experience preferred, but not necessary
Radical curiosity of retail and the constantly changing marketplace
Must be detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) required
May require up to 60% travel
Valid Driver’s License supported by a clean driving record.
