Job Description

We're recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client who is offering training and development for someone with experience in procurement or buying who is looking to grow into a full Buyer role. As Junior Buyer, you'll be part of a small, friendly team and report directly to the Buying Manager. You'll play a key role in managing product categories, analysing data, supporting the sourcing strategy, and helping to ensure smooth stock flow.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage existing product categories in line with customer demand
  • Review performance data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Plan and forecast stock levels and manage supply accordingly
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships
  • negotiate pricing and terms
  • Source new suppliers and explore alternative supply routes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely product launches and deliveries
  • Analyse sales data and share insights to maximise category performance
  • Monitor commodity prices and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Occasionally attend supplier visits, trade shows, and store visits

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a buying or procurement environment
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • A proactive, 'can-do' attitude and willingness to learn
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
