As a Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations. This role focuses heavily on water treatment systems, HVAC support, and preventative maintenance, ensuring the optimal performance of plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.
Job Responsibility
Water Treatment Oversight: Primary responsibility for managing, monitoring, and maintaining building water treatment systems
Preventative Maintenance: Execute routine preventative maintenance (PM) calls and troubleshoot issues across various building systems
HVAC Support: Respond to and assist with HVAC service calls, climate control adjustments, and system troubleshooting
Job Shadowing & Cross-Training: Shadow experienced operators across different roles to learn facility-specific systems and expand operational capabilities
General Facility Maintenance: Assist with basic repairs and maintenance in plumbing, electrical, painting, and roofing as required
Documentation: Utilize MS Office Suite to log maintenance activities, track system performance, and complete daily reports
Requirements
Certification: Must possess a valid 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate/Ticket
Experience: Open to recent graduates directly out of school, though prior hands-on work experience in a facilities environment is a strong asset
Technical Literacy: Proficient knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and responding to tenant calls
Trainability: A strong desire to learn, adapt quickly to new facility environments, and take direction from senior operators
