Job Description

As a member of the Service Area, Bridge, marine and civil structures at AFRY, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects in that will make a real impact. Through the Design Center you will collaborate with a team of highly skilled professionals in Gothenburg and Malmö, use cutting-edge technology, and play a pivotal role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients. It is important that you are a team player that like to work in teams with different competences and cultures/nationalities and that you are curious and eager to learn new things. In Gothenburg and Malmö we currently have 50 engineers working with civil structures, mostly concrete and steel. We work with a wide scope of assignments ranging from feasibility studies to detailed design. In general we work in 2-5 person teams assigned to different projects, our engineers have a typical workload of 2-4 ongoing projects. Based on your qualifications and experience we have opening for the following positions: Structural Designer, Geotechnical Structural Engineer and Senior Structural Designer.

Requirements

  • A Qualified Degree in Bridge Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in structural design with a focus on civil structures and bridges or geotechnical structural engineering
  • Experience in designing bridges, pile slabs, retaining walls, concrete tunnels along with preparing quantity and cost estimates. Both in the pre-design and construction design phases (feasibility study -> detailed engineering)
  • Deep understanding of how loads and structures work and behave
  • Experience in applying Eurocodes in bridge design
  • Good skills in Tekla Structures
  • A good knowledge of working in all applications of MS Office
  • Good written and verbal English language (CEFR minimum level B1)

Nice to have

  • Understanding of FEM, preferably Sofistik
  • Working knowledge of Rhinoceros + Grasshopper
  • Experience of working abroad, especially projects in the Nordics
  • Ability to work collaboratively
