This is a development position designed to prepare an individual possessing attributes supporting a sales dynamic to advance into a Sales Representative position. The primary function of this position is to gain industry, product and service knowledge while learning the various skills needed to be promoted to a Sales Representative. The Junior Agency Sales Representative must understand how to use interpersonal skills to build long-term internal and external relationships. This position requires travel throughout Virginia.
Job Responsibility:
Learn and master the sales process and understand the products and services offered
Learn sales administration by participating in sales office functions
Build and maintain relationships with potential clients
Conduct market research and develop sales strategies
gather and analyze information to build knowledge base and identify trends for assigned territory/product
Observe the sales process by calling on accounts
adhere to established sales steps
Update job knowledge by participating in educational improvement opportunities
read sales and marketing publications
Prepare and deliver product presentations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
Experience in sales or customer service required
May require a valid driver’s license
Excellent communication and listening skills
