Job Description

We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to support accounting operations for construction-related projects in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-volume financial work over an extended engagement while building hands-on experience in project-focused accounting. The role is well suited to someone with early-career accounting experience who can work accurately, stay organized, and assist with project reporting, cost tracking, and system-based financial tasks.

Job Responsibility

  • Support day-to-day accounting activities tied to active construction and project-based financial operations
  • Assist with tracking project costs, coding transactions, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple assignments
  • Prepare reconciliations, review account activity, and help ensure entries are recorded correctly and on time
  • Contribute to project accounting reports that help internal stakeholders monitor budgets, expenses, and financial performance
  • Enter and maintain accounting data within platforms such as CMiC, Deltek, or Deltek Vision as needed
  • Partner with team members to organize documentation, verify billing details, and resolve routine accounting discrepancies
  • Help maintain compliance with internal accounting procedures and support audit-ready recordkeeping
  • Provide additional accounting support for large-scale initiatives and other finance-related projects during the contract period

Requirements

  • 1+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based or construction environment
  • Working knowledge of project accounting principles and cost tracking practices
  • Experience with construction accounting processes is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as CMiC, Deltek, or Deltek Vision is beneficial
  • Ability to manage detailed financial information with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency in reviewing transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining organized records
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to support multiple priorities effectively

Nice to have

  • Experience with construction accounting processes is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as CMiC, Deltek, or Deltek Vision is beneficial
