Job Description:

Our client in the Banking/Financial Services industry is seeking a bright and enthusiastic Junior Accountant to join their Finance team in Sydney on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior candidate to learn and develop their skills within accounting.

Job Responsibility:

Management Reporting: Validating daily profit and loss data, comparing source systems with actual customer trades, and communicating findings to key stakeholders and Head Office
Month-End & Financial Accounting: Supporting the accuracy of our financial records through balance sheet reconciliations and the preparation of month-end journal entries
Head Office Reporting: Preparing essential monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Head Office, including tax schedules and supplementary financial information
Regulatory Compliance: Contributing to the preparation of year-end financial statements for local subsidiaries, assisting with tax-related documentation, and helping with GST (BAS) and IAS returns
Transaction Management: Processing Accounts Payable and Receivable, ensuring accurate reconciliations, and preparing daily and monthly journal entries in line with accounting policies

Requirements:

1-2 years of practical accounting experience
Experience within Banking/Financial Services highly advantageous
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
A solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles and invoicing/payment procedures
Proficiency with Excel and SAP experience is desirable
