Job Description:

Manages the day-to-day operations of the dog camp. Ensures employees adhere to company policies and procedures. Responsible for the training and development of camp staff. Performs all aspects of the musher and handler positions. Adheres to the company’s policy regarding the treatment of its animals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for ensuring our guests, employees, and animals experience the “E.X.C.U.R.S.I.O.N. of a lifetime”
  • Responsible for safety of our guests, employees, and animals
  • Handles medical concerns and/or issues regarding dogs’ health & instructs staff on how to care for animals with medical needs
  • Ensures employees adhere to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures and answers any questions or concerns employees or guests may have regarding policies and procedures
  • Resolves guests’ concerns and/or complaints as well as provides employees with guidance in handling these situations
  • Resolves any employee conflicts or situations that may arise
  • Responsible for scheduling staff while keeping overtime to a minimum and adjusting the posted schedule as needed when daily tour numbers are received
  • Inventories supplies
  • Ensures equipment is properly maintained
  • Regularly attends manager meetings
  • Maintain open and consistent communication with Upper Management
  • Trains and instructs employees in job performance and conformance to the company’s service standards, policies, and procedures or arranges for the training to be provided
  • Documents employees’ performance via completing a monthly evaluation form
  • Responsible for handling employee discipline issues and discussing job performance problems with employees to identify causes and concerns and to work on resolving them
  • Provides employees with consistent feedback, both positive and negative, and recommends appropriate action as needed
  • Sets monthly performance goals with employees and monitors their progress towards them
  • Performs musher and handler duties as scheduled and as needed
  • Other tasks as directed by management

Requirements:

  • Certified or able to get certified in First Aid/CPR
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Legally eligible to work in the US
  • CDL or able to attain one
  • 21 years or older
