Job Description:

Assistant Manager position at the Juneau Musher's Camp, responsible for assisting in camp operations, staff training, dog care, guest safety, and providing a quality sled dog tour experience.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performs all aspects of the musher and handler positions
  • Assists in training and development of camp staff
  • Manages day-to-day operations in absence of site manager
  • Ensures guest safety and satisfaction
  • Monitors dog health and provides general dog care
  • Performs camp chores and maintenance
  • Safely provides guests with a one-mile sled ride and presentations
  • Assists guests with vehicles
  • Prepares sled, takes pictures, introduces guests to team
  • Safely hooks up and unhooks dogs
  • Inspects and replaces dog equipment
  • Transports guests using a van
  • Attends manager meetings
  • Trains employees
  • Handles medical concerns for dogs
  • Resolves guest and employee conflicts
  • Schedules staff
  • Inventories supplies
  • Ensures equipment maintenance

Requirements:

  • Certified or able to get certified in First Aid/CPR
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Legally eligible to work in the US
  • CDL or able to attain one
  • 21 years or older
