Job Description

The Regulatory Engineer is a critical member of a dynamic, cross-functional team that is developing the storage industry’s most innovative solutions. As the Regulatory Engineer, you will ensure that products are compliant to all relevant Worldwide Standards and have all country certifications required for sale in the target markets. This involves working in the areas of Product Safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), Country Certifications and Quality Management Systems. In this role you will have the opportunity to influence the development and deployment of cutting edge Information Technology products.

Job Responsibility

  • Become part of the team ensuring that HPE Storage products achieve and maintain compliance to all applicable EMC and Product Safety Regulations as well individual Country Certifications
  • Manage the process of obtaining all Country Certifications and Listings necessary to access international markets such as NRTL listing, CB listing, CE Mark, VCCI, BSMI, BIS, KCC, etc
  • Maintain corporate Product Compliance database and work with Regulatory Team members to close any deficiencies
  • Remotely coordinate product testing such as Product Safety and EMC
  • Develop and maintain product compliance schedules and budgets
  • Monitor changes in global regulations and proactively advise as to any impacts
  • Ensure that HPE Storage products achieve and maintain compliance to all applicable EMC and Product Safety Regulations
  • Assisted by the HPE’s Global Access Team, assume responsibility for all Country Certifications and Listings necessary to access international markets. This include NRTL listing, CB listing, CE Mark, VCCI, BSMI, BIS, KCC, etc
  • Remotely manage EMC and Product Safety testing while advising corrective solutions to any non-compliance and ensure the solution is properly implemented
  • Participate in cross-organizational panels to define HPE Regulatory Compliance policies and procedures
  • Advise Product Teams of upcoming Global Regulatory Compliance requirements, specifically in the context of product and process impacts
  • Prioritize and manage efforts across multiple NPI and Sustaining projects

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or direct practical experience in this role
  • 1 to 3 years direct experience with achieving Regulatory Compliance of Information Technology products
  • Strong English communications, both oral and written
  • Ability to work effectively as a remote team member
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn
  • Direct experience with Enterprise Storage Products
  • Experience with other regulatory areas such as Environmental Compliance, Energy Efficiency, Cryptography, or Global Trade
  • Experience with CAD or graphic design tools such as Adobe Illustrator
  • Experience or familiarity with Electrical or Mechanical DVT
  • Familiarity with database and PLC/PLM tools such as Oracle Agile
