Job Description:

A law firm in Oakland is seeking Certified Paralegals to support an on‑site document review and file organization project. This short‑term assignment is ideal for paralegals who are detail‑oriented, efficient, and comfortable working hands‑on with large volumes of physical files. The team needs individuals who can jump in immediately and help streamline an important records‑clean‑up initiative. In this role, you’ll work on‑site to review approximately 100 banker boxes alongside other individuals, identify and pull all relevant materials, scan responsive documents, and organize or dispose of the remainder according to project guidelines. We estimate this will be a 3‑week contract assignment and are looking for individuals that could get started right away.

Job Responsibility:

  • Review banker boxes of documents on site and identify materials relevant to the project
  • Sort, organize, and separate responsive documents from those marked for destruction
  • Scan, label, and produce all responsive documents in an orderly, trackable manner
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working through high volumes efficiently
  • Collaborate with a small team of 2–3 paralegals to complete project milestones
  • Follow established protocols to ensure proper handling and disposition of all physical files

Requirements:

  • Paralegal certification is required
  • Prior experience reviewing, organizing, or managing large sets of physical documents is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to determine relevancy within mixed file types
  • Ability to work fully on site in the client’s Oakland office for the duration of the project
  • Comfortable with scanning, labeling, and basic document production workflows
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work independently or alongside a small team

Nice to have:

  • The ideal candidate is thorough, focused, and efficient with physical file review
  • They enjoy structured project work, take pride in accuracy, and can confidently manage repetitive tasks without losing attention to detail
What we offer:
  • medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance
  • eligible to enroll in our company 401(k) plan
