Job Description

We are looking for a motivated entry-level Operations Engineer to join our team in Secaucus, NJ . In this role, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to maintain and enhance mission-critical, low-latency trading systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in system administration, networking, and automation while contributing to the operational success of our platform.

Job Responsibility

  • Monitor and maintain the performance of low-latency trading systems to ensure seamless operation
  • Assist in resolving incidents by troubleshooting issues and minimizing system downtime in collaboration with senior team members
  • Perform essential operational tasks such as system monitoring, log analysis, and routine maintenance
  • Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency
  • Gain hands-on experience with Linux/Unix system administration and networking technologies
  • Contribute to the creation and upkeep of detailed documentation for systems and processes
  • Participate in rotational weekend work to ensure system reliability and availability
  • Travel occasionally to the data center as required for hardware or system maintenance tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT support or system administration, showcasing a foundational understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools
  • Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP and DNS
  • Experience with scripting languages like Bash or Python is an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a proactive approach to learning
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and participate in weekend work on a rotational basis
