Job Description:

This Jr. Network Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing secure and reliable network infrastructure across multiple clinical and administrative sites. The ideal Jr. Network candidate will bring extensive experience in multi-site environments and possess a strong understanding of security, compliance, and high-availability network architecture. This Jr. Network Engineer is an onsite role and requires some travel around the East Bay.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design and implement secure and scalable network solutions to support clinical and administrative operations
  • Assess existing network infrastructure and document findings across multiple sites
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, and SD-WAN solutions to ensure seamless connectivity
  • Oversee firewall configurations, wireless systems, and network security protocols
  • Implement tools for network monitoring, intrusion detection, and logging to enhance security
  • Collaborate with security and compliance teams to address risks and support security audits
  • Optimize network performance by analyzing metrics, resolving bottlenecks, and recommending improvements
  • Provide technical support for VoIP systems, paging, and emergency broadcast infrastructure
  • Create detailed documentation and diagrams of network topology and configurations
  • Work closely with IT staff and external vendors to support site expansions, relocations, or renovations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering roles
  • Proven ability to manage multi-site network environments effectively
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VLANs, routing protocols such as BGP, and SD-WAN technologies
  • Expertise in firewall policy management and network segmentation principles
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki systems and virtualization platforms like VMware or Proxmox
  • Strong skills in documentation and clear communication with technical teams

Nice to have:

Preferred experience in healthcare or nonprofit organizations and relevant certifications
