Job Description

As a Jr. Legal Secretary, you will be instrumental in managing real estate transactions and ensuring effective communication amongst the deal team. Your role will encompass the handling of closing matters, post-closing tasks, loan documentation, and various other responsibilities.

Job Responsibility

  • Efficiently manage the finalization, compilation, and dating of documents related to closing matters
  • Oversee post-closing tasks such as the management of custodial packages and closing binders, as well as the follow-up on title documents
  • Collaborate closely with the deal team, including attorneys, paralegals, and assistants, to finalize and receive all necessary loan documents and related due diligence
  • Support attorneys and paralegals in the preparation of title documents
  • Assist in the preparation of signature pages
  • Help coordinate post-closing projects
  • Create loan summaries and fill out due diligence questionnaires
  • Undertake any other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • College degree and/or a paralegal certificate
  • 1-2 years of prior legal experience in a law firm--preferably with Real Estate or Corporate Law
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on MS Word and to a lesser extent Excel
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat for document creation, editing, and management
  • Good working knowledge of document management systems
  • experience with NetDocuments is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to adjust for competing deadlines and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a high degree of professionalism
