Job Description:

This position supports the Air Force Laboratory. The directorate's mission is to develop and transition technologies that provide space-based capabilities to the United States and its allies to maintain space superiority.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collect program and cost data
  • Develop cost estimating relationships
  • Create and present defense acquisition cost estimates
  • Create and document estimates using Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) software
  • Work with higher DoD officials and communicate with prime contractor personnel

Requirements:

  • Ability to gather and analyze technical, programmatic, schedule, labor and cost data
  • 1-5 years of experience in combined industry and government system acquisition experience
  • Problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Understanding of developing and/or performing cost estimates, and developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Familiarity with statistics, cost estimating principles/ DoD acquisition policies
  • Working knowledge of the DoD acquisition and project management process
  • Working knowledge of earned value management, scheduling, and the DoD Budget cycle
  • Proficient in the use of M/S office applications, i.e., M/S PowerPoint, Word, and very proficient using Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI a plus
  • Excellent verbal communication, written, and quantitative analytical skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to obtain a security clearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences

  • Experience with Microsoft PowerBI
  • Familiarity with stochastic modeling and applying sophisticated statistical and analytical techniques
  • Familiarity with Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) software
