Job Description:

A client of ours in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled Journeyperson Millwright to join their maintenance team. This role is essential for ensuring the continuous operation of high-speed production lines, involving the repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of complex mechanical and electrical systems. Job Responsibility:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and high-speed packaging machinery
  • Conduct comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for precision repairs
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems
  • Document all work orders, inventory usage, and labor hours within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Perform machining, fabrication, and welding tasks as needed to support equipment upgrades
  • Ensure all work adheres to strict food safety (HACCP), quality (GMP), and health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson Certificate is required
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, and stationary engines
  • Ability to work comfortably around alcohol production and adhere to strict hygiene standards (hair nets/beard nets)
  • Must provide your own tools
  • Physically capable of heavy lifting and standing/walking for the duration of the shift

Nice to have:

  • Dual-Ticket (Electrician/Millwright) is considered a significant asset
  • Experience in manufacturing with conveyors and machinery is an asset
  • Experience in food or beverage production is an asset
