Job Description:

A client of ours in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is seeking a skilled Journeyperson Millwright to join their maintenance team. This role is essential for ensuring the continuous operation of high-speed production lines, involving the repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of complex mechanical and electrical systems. Job Responsibility:

Install, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including conveyors, pumps, compressors, and high-speed packaging machinery
Conduct comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings for precision repairs
Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems
Document all work orders, inventory usage, and labor hours within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Perform machining, fabrication, and welding tasks as needed to support equipment upgrades
Ensure all work adheres to strict food safety (HACCP), quality (GMP), and health and safety regulations

Requirements:

Valid Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Journeyperson Certificate is required
Strong mechanical knowledge of power transmission, pneumatics, hydraulics, and stationary engines
Ability to work comfortably around alcohol production and adhere to strict hygiene standards (hair nets/beard nets)
Must provide your own tools
Physically capable of heavy lifting and standing/walking for the duration of the shift

Nice to have:

Dual-Ticket (Electrician/Millwright) is considered a significant asset
Experience in manufacturing with conveyors and machinery is an asset
Experience in food or beverage production is an asset
